Behringer ASIO drivers disappeared. Low end Behrigner devices (audio interfaces, Xenyx mixers) used to have Behringer custom drivers (WDM and ASIO).

They was also advertised as 'Ultra low latency'. These drivers had some strangeness: they was not really utra low in latency, ASIO buffer size was affecting WDM (system) sounds and ASIO mode was not blocking system sounds.

But they was (and still are) working on all Windows incarnations (32/64bit, from XP up to Windows 10). At some 'unlucky' moment, they have completely disappeared from Behringer Downloads and replaced with ASIO4ALL. One Behringer supporter claims in the forum there are no such drivers!

WARINING: these drivers are hard to find. On most driver download sites, you get some '.exe' file which is more than 2MB in size. Who knows what they 'pack' there. Original drivers (64bit one is BEHRINGER2902X642.8.40.zip) are zip archives and they are less then 1MB in size! What is going on with Behringer? The only guess I have: the drivers are signed by company with other name (I do not remember which), so can it be license issue? Well, BCF2000 is not an audio device and not every Xenyx has USB audio interface.

But small Xenyx with USB is cheapest 'all in one solution' for home hobbyist like me, for example QX1202 with 4 pre-amps, several line ins and USB interface is the only device I could find under 100 euro to connect e-drums, Live Play GTX (for guitar and voice), extra mics if required. Unlike audio interface, all that working without computer. And with computer I can record/play something to/from sonar. All that has quite low quality, but it is in balance with the quality of sounds I produce on all instruments (may be except piano.). The noise level is definitively lower then from build-in Realtek (which I have connected to the mixer once). I was using that with XP running on (I know what you will think.) Atom based HTPC.

Most synth was 'no go' without rendering first, but otherwise I was satisfied (if I want do something with recorded results I use different PC in another room). I have updated to Win10, which in general is running much smoother. Once I have tried to redownload the drivers from Behringer I have found NO drivers. I took files I had on my old disk (I saved all versions I could find back in time, also 64bit one). Roland say some 'old' drivers are not Win10 compatible, while they are (with installation tricks). Behringer say they have no (and had no!) drivers at all, while they have (and they are working without any tricks).

Something is wrong here. It is interesting from where that comes.

The XENYX X1222USB - 16-Input USB Audio Mixer with Effects from Behringer is a 16-input audio mixer with an integrated USB computer audio interface. It enables you to mix together and shape the sound of multiple audio signals, and route the audio to several outputs. Special attention has been paid to the quality of the X1222USB's 6 microphone preamps, 'British' style EQ, and 4 easy-to-use one-knob compressors. The X1222USB provides six mono channels and up to four stereo channels, making it ideal for smaller and medium sized audio tasks.

There are two aux sends on every channel (which enable you to route individual channels to stage monitors or external effects), and two stereo aux returns. The built-in USB interface allows for a bi-directional transfer of the raw (non-fader or EQ) audio and effects to and from your computer.

The built-in 24-bit dual engine effects processor features 16 presets that include, reverb, chorus, flanger, delay, pitch shifter, and multi-effects. You can edit the parameters of every preset, and a tap tempo button is included to sync time-based effects.

The 4 built-in compressors are designed to simplify the process of controlling dynamics in your mix. With a single knob you can dial in the amount of compression you need for any given sound. Individual compressors are a feature rarely seen in mixing boards in this price range. The 6 XENYX preamps offer 130 dB of dynamic range, and the 3-band 'British' style EQs really allow you to create a fine-tuned mix. The XENYX X1222USB is well-suited for recording studios, video editing suites, live sound mixing, podcasting, and more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jim Jarvis, TheMorseGroup from Good unit I do professional narration. 30 yrs experience. Needed Compression, chnl EQ, and EFX for special voices and circumstances. It's really more oriented to sound reinforcement than recording.

Super feedback detection and 7 band EQ to notch that out, in a reinforcement mode. The Chnl EQ & comp is just fine. About the only complaint I have is that I'm used to broadcast boards, and would like CR out, and switchable headphones, which it lacks. The X 1204 has that, though, without the 7 band EQ on the output.

All in all, a super unit for theater work, or recording which doesn't require flexible output monitoring. Rated 4 out of 5 by rhbean from Nice Little Board for the $$ This is a feature packed board for the money and seems to be of good build quality. I searched for awhile to find small board with the most features for the cost and this Behringer board was the best. I am happy with the features, ease of use, and build quality so far.

The effects have some hiss/noise with first use, so I need to see if that is a problem with the board, or user error. Otherwise, the sound is clean, the phantom power on/off switch is a nice feature and the mixing capabilities are good for a board of this size and price. The compression on the first 4 channels is fantastic. Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Better than expected. I use the Xenyx X1222usb mainly for live shows with 3 to 6 musicians. We had been using a couple old Mackie mixers for years and the outputs blew on both.

I replaced them with this mixer and couldn't be happier. The sound quality improvement over the old Mackie's is amazing. It's so much easier for me to dial in a great mix now and the 24-bit effects are great. Also love the color coded FX and Monitor sections. Would have given it 5 stars if it allowed recording all channels individually. You can only record left and right mains.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JimPhilly from Good, But not Reliable If I could trust this board, it would get 5 stars. Everything you expect in a board this size at its price point. Even a good effects processor included.

I was setting up for a wedding one day, and the board shut off out of nowhere. I was able to get it working when I realized it was due to a loose/faulty 120VAC input socket. I ordered a replacement socket from Newark/Element14 and soldered it in, thought I was good to go. Then, at another event, the board inexplicably shut off again!

This time, no cord-wiggling could bring it back to life. I ended up punching it out of frustration. And it came back on.

I very delicately used it for the rest of the night, crossing my fingers that it wouldn't let me down. Then, it went in my basement, never to be used again. If you value your reputation and work, look elsewhere. I've had other Behringer products let me down as well. Rated 4 out of 5 by Camera Operator from Nice flexible board I use this board for live streaming. We were in a smaller mixer without the USB connection, and it was a nightmare.

With the USB connection and added inputs, we're pretty well set for the future. As most people know, Behringer is pretty much killing it with their product quality and price. There are other boards out there that have better components, and might be more durable, but I can replace this 4 times before I get to the price of the competitors. Rated 4 out of 5 by Martha from Good mixer for the price I've bought several of these Behringer mixers in the past few years.

I use them for college interns to broadcast live baseball games in the Cape Cod Baseball League. The mixer is very simple, has the basic ports necessary, and does not kill the bank account.

Only one downside: If something breaks, there is no fix. It's a throw-away mixer. In the past, a channel or two has failed, and a mute button has failed. I keep a back up mixer just in case.
